All right! We came here for the name of THE KING and were not disappointed! The original sauce of the king is some of the best I ever had, the freshly roasted pork grinds delicious, and the 2 men who work behind the counter very helpful and friendly.

Husband really loved the place, I thought it was good but the sauce was not like the typical bbq I'm used to. First time we went there I got the beef brisket and it was burnt and black so I didn't really enjoy it. Second time around I got the slamwitch which is a bbq chicken breast sandwich. It was good. Husband has gotten the pulled pork sandwich everytime. Fries, slaw and mac and cheese were ok.

Great food. Phenomenal service. I had the brisket, but ate it too fast to snap a picture. However, I did get a shot of my dessert... the peach cobbler. It was equally as amazing as the entree. Do yourself a favor and stop by!

The King putting the smackdown on Memphis. LOL I love the nostalgia of the decor. Reminds me of Saturday night watching WRAS'LIN!! as a kid. The BBQ is Memphis style. A molasses/honey base sauce and smoked meat with a dry rub. Pictured is the 2 meat meal, with fries and green beans. I like to mix the Original and Spicy to get a good mix. The brisket is tender and juicy. The Chicken is tender and not too dry like a lot of bbq places. Fries are a little too sweet for my taste. Green beans are spicy and seasoned. Pros: Fair price point, generous portion sizes, friendly staff, fast service. Cons: Not central to anything outside of Cordova, small eating area, sweet fries

I was really disappointed. I don’t know if it was the winter blizzard coming that day or what. 5 stars for the ambiance as I’m a huge wrestling fan but the food, which would be 4 stars in most towns, was not up to snuff for Memphis. I will return in May and try again.
