Restaurant bewertenWe took our daughter for an early dinner (5.30pm). We were bitterly disappointed how long it took to eat at the restaurant. We finally left after 7pm after only eating one course, with an extremely grumpy, tired & bored child. They advertised a child's colouring book with kids meal, but I had to ask for it & instead we were given 5 colouring pens, 3 of which didn't work & told to use the table cloth as the colouring in pad. She was also meant to get a free soft drink as advertised, and this never arrived. We had the beef ribs, which were amazing. Huge portions & great tasting. Just as well, as they'd run out of the pork belly, chicken, lamb & prawns....by 6pm! They didn't write the specials until after we'd ordered & we weren't given them as an option. We then ordered dessert. 20 minutes later we asked where it was. Still not ready. So we said to forget it (it's now 1.5 hrs since we got to the restaurant). However, the cashier tried to charge us for the desserts as the kitchen were still making them for us!! It took us making a real fuss for them to remove them from the bill, as we'd still not received them....! The Manager then came over to tell us desserts take 25 minutes to make! Firstly, no one had told us that, as we certainly wouldn't make our 4 year old sit & wait for 25 minutes, after already having had her dinner. Secondly, how can any restaurant justify making someone wait that long for dessert?!Finally, they agreed to not charge us & apologised for the misunderstanding. Shockingly slow service, please don't take children if you are looking for somewhere quick to eat. However, food was fantastic if you are prepared to wait!
Delicious late dinner. Was one of the very few places still open that would seat you for a meal after 8.30pm on a Saturday night. Food was outstanding and servings were enormous! Bar area was full and only one or two small tables left in the dining room - speaks of the quality of the food. Service was a little hit and miss.. most waiters were very friendly and cheerful, however there was an odd one that seemed like they just hated their job, but all in all a great night out!
I went for dinner one night and had the sirloin steak and it was cooked to perfection. Went back another night and ordered the same thing and again it was cooked to perfection with a generous serve of vegetables. Service staff need a bit more training (as they appeared to be quite young and new) and should keep conversations about other customers behind closed doors but overall would recommend having dinner here. Great bar area as well.
We chose to eat there two nights in a row despite 45minute wait due to limited staff. Food was exceptionally tasty, well presented and plentiful compared to Jindabyne which was a totally disappointment. Lovely formal setting with a beautiful large crackling fire in the dining room or you can get the same meals served in the pub if that is your choice.
Very busy Saturday night and we had no booking. No problem, the helpful staff made some space. Log fire and a lot of activity. The meal was great, big serves, wonderfully cooked and fast service. Will stop here if traveling through Cooma again.
