Restaurant bewertenWe have been here a couple times and left happy both times. First disclaimers- 1. Both times we went before dinner time so crowds were not an issue. 2. It is a Louisiana restaurant, we did not expect fast service. High points- the workers go out of their way to make you feel welcome. The owner/manager remembered us the second time and made us feel like regulars. Derek the chef came over and asked us how everything was and the server was friendly. The food was good. The first time we did have the suggested platter and we glad we did, it gave us a chance to try a bit of everything and find our favorites. I loved the gumbo. It contains great sausage and pieces of crab legs. My husband never met a jambalaya he didn't love so it was easy for him. We also got the beignet to take home. They were pillows of heaven. The total tab can be a lot but the items are price under other places in the area serving similar food. The restaurant is small and casual with a Louisiana feel. Lower points- The jambalaya is mostly rice. It would be nice if there was more meat. The chicken was good but the seasoning was inconsistent. Just so happy to have a place like this in the area.
In my experience, possibly the best place to eat in Concord. The food was amazing, with plenty of menu options, the prices were reasonable, and the service was friendly and efficient. I had the catfish with cheese grits, and rice with gravy, spicy sausage, a cup of the fantastic gumbo, with sweet tea, and beignets for dessert. All of it was perfectly and expertly prepared! The only nits that I have to pick are that it was a bit warm inside (though in a way it kind of added to the ambience) and the beignets took awhile to get to us. I'd imagine the beignets may be cooked to order, and it probably would've been much less of a wait if I'd ordered them at the start of my meal. I will most definitely be coming back! Soon and often!
The food was amazing! I had the gumbo with the red beans and rice OMG! Cooked to perfection. The beans had the the right amount of spice and the rue of the gumbo . Will definitely be going back and recommend it to everyone go and try it.
