Wenjie Chinese Restaurant - Comox

I don't understand how this restaraunt gets the reviews it does. This was my second attempt and the most recent meal somehow beat out my last attempt which was the worst chinese food I've ever had. They have a great website but nothing you order isgoing to resemble the pictures. Ginger beef was not identifiable as such and was so sweet it was gross. Sweet and sour chickenhad no moisture to it like the chicken had been roasted till it was dried out completely then battered . The beef and broccoliwas passable at a food court level. Even the steamed rice was neither hot nor moist. Spring rolls were greasy and barely warmhaving been batch cooked and sat. Filling was bland and consisted of carrot and cabbage . Theirs no attempt at traditionalChinese technique here. I don't know. Maybe I hit two bad nights and ordered their worst items but Such a let down.

Love this restaurant, it?s wonderful food and amazing people! The food is always hot everytime I?ve ordered pickup, large portions and tasty! I always mean to take a picture for my review but I can?t help myself and eat it as soon as I get home.

There was a giant dead mosquito in my food. I will never go back. ????

Taste of food was decent and I appreciated that they don?t use MSG in the cooking. The beef chop suey had very little beef like only 3-4 pieces which was disappointing. The website also says they do delivery but when we called, they said they don?t do it(not sure if it was only for the day)

Classic Chinese takeout. Call in, place the order, 15 minutes and it?s ready. Always super fresh crisp big cuts of veggies and always really fresh and hot. I?ve attached photos of the menu because they are so hard to find otherwise.
