Very nice assortment of take out foods, particularly the Chinese. IF, however, you or a family member has an allergy to MSG, then you should avoid because virtually ALL items contain MSG.

The deli in this store has many house-made entrees which are really good. There's also a large Step Above shop with great small and large treasures. Lovely outdoor patio to enjoy in the warmer weather.

Grocery store located near Lerwick Rd. In Comox. Love their daily specials to get better price with their points card. Upstairs kitchen gift shop beautiful but can be little pricey. Nice coffee shop upstairs

Similar to other Quality foods locations that have an extensive Chinese menu, this one on Guthrie Road is an additional menu worth stopping for. During a visit to Courtenay recently, my in-laws and spouse decided to try a Japanese menu. Located about 1/2 way down the main aisle in the grocery store on the right, is a smaller kitchen. We ordered a "Bento Box", 2 in fact to feed 4 adults. The Bento boxes consist of you deciding on 4 choices and having rice as a complimentary 5th item. The salmon, shrimp and vegetable choices were ones that we selected. With teriyaki sauce added in the food presentations, that flavors were delightful. Service was quick, and the manager has a great positive attitude. Once we received our order we headed to a most comfortable seating location that has a great viewing area and fireplace. Truly a comfortable place to dine! being able to feed 4 adults for $23.00 is hard to do, but at this Quality Foods location, the Japanese menu rocks it. By the way, you can pick up chopsticks to add more of challenge while eating :)

Like some others said, the deli counter meals are fairly average and the Chinese food seems the most popular, so can be a long wait sometimes to get that. But if you get there when the Japanese food items have just been put out, you can get a really nice Bento box made to order, and at good prices. A 4-item box feeds two of us, no problem. My favourite thing to get there when I want takeout.
