Restaurant bewertenMy wife and I stopped over in Colombey-les-deluxe-eglises on the basis of a strong recommendation. We had been looking forward to dining at Hostellerie Montagne for nearly a year. Much to our relief we were not disappointed. The welcome and service was both friendly and attentive. Good restaurants can be overbearing but this was a pleasure to dine at. The oriental themed decor was superb, somehow managing to blend with the delightful French vistas through the windows. Tasty amuses bouches arrived on the terrace during pre-dinner drinks and we went to our table at our own pace. A choice of menus were available, all with a range of offerings to tantalise. We opted for the "Zen" menu though by the end of our six courses plus cheese we were struggling a little to see the Zen connection. Never mind, each dish was well presented and tasty with fresh ingredients and a good deal of imagination. The wine list offered a good choice to complement the food. We chose a couple of half bottles of Burgundy and both went really well with the meal, without breaking the bank. If I'm honest the experience was excellent rather than stunning but I'd have no hesitation in going back. It was clear that the kitchen team is dedicated to excellence so a great dining experience is guaranteed.
We really enjoyed the Menu de Jour that we chose. The presentation was exceptional and the service excellent. We would recommend this establishment for a special occasion without hesitation.
On my way back to Paris from a business meeting, I had lots of time to drive along the country road instead of the autoroute. And adviced my Via Michelin app and discovered this restaurant, convenient at lunch time. I had the less costly daily menu for 28 Euro. And got first 4 very tasty different appetizers. The starter was a very delicious mushroom soup, the main a perfectly prepared salmon with vegetables of the season. And finally a very nice chocolate dessert. Very professional and friendly service.
We went to see Charles de Gaulle's house in this delightful French village where he spent much of his life. I chose the number 1 restaurant on Trip Advisor as a treat and we loved it. The kind of place where you order 3 courses and get 6 or 7 with the various extras. Wonderful surroundings and the chef and owner bothered to come out and talk to us at the end. Would definitely go back
Overall, it was a pleasure eating in the restaurant. The decor was minimal which made us concentrate on the food, We took the lunch menu of 67 euros, the choice of food was good. Our waiter was very knowledgeable, we asked many questions about the food & wine and he was able to answer to our satisfaction. The cheese they served were products of the region which was a big plus. I chose tarte tatin revisited for dessert, it was good, I just wished the serving was more generous. We recommend this restaurant.
