Ricefield by Homecooked

It was a chilly, rainy night and I had the craves for something spicy.

I haven't picked up my husband from the Cockburn Train Station after work for more than 2 months so I was surprised with what I found when I went there

Thank you Ricefield by Homecooked for making nasi lemak the menu item it ought to be.

Do not be fooled by the small and unassuming exterior of this place. The food is to die for. Truly authentic and flavorsome. The best Nasi Lemak. The best Beef Rendang. The best seafood dishes.

Was visiting friends in the Cockburn area, and they told me about this small cafe nearby that serves pretty good nasi padang. Went there for dinner and my friend ordered the Platter for Two, $38. I was skeptical about ordering the platter for two when there were four of us, but she said it was sufficient. To my surprise it was more than enough! It came with 2 big servings of rice, one plain and the other coconut flavored, 4 pcs of fried chicken wings, 1 chicken leg (sometimes 2 if you are lucky), a bowl of mixed vegetable curry (sayur lodeh), a bowl of sambal assam sotong (sometimes fish) with 2 eggs, a generous portion of spicy vegetables (sometimes long beans or okra), and a good portion of beef rendang. It really hits the spot, especially when you are craving for some good home cooked meals that reminds you definitely of Mom or home!! We opted for the combo ($42) which comes with 2 teh tarik. The four of us could barely finish all the food!I was back again the following week with 7 more friends, and we ordered 2 Platter for Two. Ricefield offers Platter for Three and Four too, but we decided on the former because of the seating arrangement and it was easier to share among four on each end of the table. We were all so satisfied with our meals and the value for the delicious food.I came back for my last meal on my way to the airport. I will definitely come and eat again when I visit Perth, and I highly recommend Ricefield to anyone wanting a taste of genuine home cooked food!
