Restaurant bewertenThe food was amazing! The service was a little slow and the menu was a little pricey, otherwise it was a great experience.
Brasserie Memere is a hidden gem in an otherwise average Closter plaza. The restaurant is operated by a lovely woman who will run to get your order for you. We haven't seen that kind of commitment in a long time. Brasserie is impeccably clean and warming to walk into. There is an abundant of patio space along the side and in the back. We ate from the Express menu due to the time we arrived. First, the pastries were still-warm-fresh. The almond croissants and the kougin amann were unbelievable. It will be hard to find pastry this good in Paris, let alone in north Jersey. The nicoise and croque monsieur were perfect for a light bite. We will definitely be going back and we recommend it to everyone else.
Stepping into Brasserie you feel like you 've been transported to a timeless French Bistro very similar to Balthazar or Raoul 's in Manhattan. I recommend some of the amazing cocktails to start, any of their tartes (light French pizza) PEI mussels, chicken schnitzel or steak frites. My wife enjoys their very fresh Scottish salmon. Brasserie has amazing wine and Evelyn is extremely knowledgeable should you need help navigating the wine list. In fact, all of their staff are extremely helpful and friendly. Sit at a table for a romantic dinner or eat at the bar for a more casual experience. Make sure you try their Grand gourmet burger if you are at Sunday brunch with a hangover from the night before. They also have some very cool special events like wine bourbon tastings, cigar and movie nights. Brasserie has a lot to offer try it if you can!
A French American eatery that the locals love. Went here while visiting friends in Closter and our friends ran into a few aquaintances from the area. The food is good and service courteous. The Mussels we ordered were fresh and it's broth was the best I have ever tasted. The duck leg was tender and had a nice crust. The Escargot was good. They have decent options on drinks. Overall a good experience on a relaxed night out.
Cute place in the corner of an outdoor mall. GPS took us to the back which was weird... They have lovely outdoor seating but it was too cold even with heating units. So we sat inside. Alex was our waiter and he was a nice young man. He's speedy and is rushing around so talk fast LoL We ordered: Purple Rain soju, lychee calipico, lychee puree, butterfly pea flower Oliver's Chug Jug ginger lime syrup, butter?y pea ?ower, soda really refreshing and light, tip: ask for lite ice because it got watered down fast... French Onion Soup so good, one of the best we've had Cuisses Grenouilles frog legs not my thing but hubby loved it... it was well cooked and tender but still chewy (might just be how this meat is, like how goat is always gamey... Escargots snail ok, we've had better Vegan Sausage vegetarian friend said it was good, will take his word for it hehehe Butternut Squash Soup one of the good one he's had Confit De Canard duck leg cooked in duck fat, tarbais beans, garlic sausage, pancetta, spiced orange glazee amazing! This is a must have. Beuf Burguignon red wine braised wagyu beef cheeks, smoked bacon, mushrooms, pearl onions, pommes dauphine it was ok, meat was really tender but I'm not a drinker so the wine was too strong to me it tasted slightly bitter but hubby loved it. Tahitian Vanilla Creme Brulee must try, so creamy good, best we've ever had! I would try again if I was in the area. :
