Speckled Ax - Cliff Island

Got 2 drip coffees and some beans for home brewing. Loved the drip coffee… balanced and really flavour forward. Can’t wait to brew the beans at home. Appreciated how much variety they offer. Great spot!

Accommodating a sociable staff. Great green tea, made iced for me without hesitation. Perfect location.

Great service, location, and atmosphere… but I ordered an $8 oat milk latte that tasted acrid and burnt. Unfortunately I couldn’t finish it.

Not what it used to be. This spot degraded over the years. I’ve been coming here for 5 years ever since i lived in Portland and every time i stroll through town it’s a routine to come here and have a coffee. Last few times this is cappuccino i got, no late art, flat and milk not steamed right. Keep in mind i would always get coffe beans for my machine from them. Have their hoodie, beanie, thermos mug and old set of mugs they had back in the day from pottery studio. But this is ridiculous. Coffee beans are still amazing (especially their bird dog) but i feel like baristas they hire just don’t care anymore now that they grown. At least on this location. I was the biggest ambassador for them but not anymore.A lot of my friends noticed the same thing. I’m done with them, not part of my Portland ritual anymore. Feel bad writing this but it had to be done.
