Hard not to love him. Along with making chocolate from scratch- what I enjoyed most is how Herman’s family survives off this land. Also, had the best tasting pineapple and banana. Best coconut and coconut meat outside Bangladesh : please visit if you’re in the Osa Peninsula area!
Wonderful tour of the rainforest trail and the chocolate making. Followed by a delicious lunch made from local organic ingredients. A highlight of our trip to the Osa Peninsula.
We had an excellent farm/chocolate tour here. We were lucky to be just two, so basically private, learned lots about chocolate and local plants, saw squirrel monkeys and an iguana as a bonus, and were fed various chocolate-based treats. German, his family, and the guide Diego are super nice and hospitable.
Excellent experience. Truly worth the cost. Learned so much about tropical fruit and plants. Our guides: German and Marco, provided exceptional insight about the agriculture and chocolate making process. Learning how to make the chocolate was a lot of fun. Would recommend to anyone visiting the Osa peninsula.
We had a tour this morning and had the best time. Our favorite was when we got to the end with the culmination of the chocolate making after the cocoa beans were roasted over the coals. The family was so sweet and their two little girls were adorable. You can see how important this farm is to them all and the pride they take in the process. Would highly recommend.
