Restaurant bewertenI had a fantastic experience! The Titanic section on the upper floor was really impressive. I absolutely loved the candy store; their prices are very reasonable. The small restaurant was fully booked, so I recommend making a reservation in advance if you want to dine there!
We had a great time during our visit. The tea, service, and food all contributed to a lovely experience. However, the room is a bit small, and the noise from two louder tables detracted from the atmosphere. Despite that, I recommend checking it out for yourself!
My partner and I absolutely adore this place. Occasionally, we treat ourselves to High Tea while browsing their delightful British sweet shop. **Service:** The staff is consistently friendly, warm, and attentive without being intrusive. However, it's worth noting that the atmosphere is quite casual, meaning you might have to wait a bit to be seated or noticed. If you're easily upset by a waitress chatting with other customers instead of focusing solely on you, I’d suggest looking for tea elsewhere. Don't hesitate to ask the staff for assistance; they are very kind and accommodating. **Food:** The tea selection is impressive, featuring a wide array of black, green, and herbal teas. My personal favorite is the Monk's Blend. The tea is served in cozy tea pots alongside charming china creamers, and the table is beautifully set with china teacups and various sweeteners. If you desire lemon or honey with your tea, just ask. In addition to tea, the food menu offers a small yet delightful selection of pies, scones, and other British classics. The scone served with Devon cream and jam is substantial, coming warm with generous portions of both cream and jam. While the High Tea might appear modest when it arrives, it is sufficiently filling for a satisfying lunch, complete with a variety of treats such as sandwiches, savory puff pastries, and petit fours. While there is nothing particularly exotic or adventurous about the menu, I would describe it as comforting, and it is executed very well. **Atmosphere:** If nothing else, you should visit for the atmosphere, which feels like stepping into an eclectic British grandmother's home. English kitsch is everywhere, providing plenty to admire. The tearoom is surrounded by a mini-museum filled with intriguing items, especially for fans of British history, including an upstairs room dedicated to the Titanic. There’s a well-stocked British sweet shop, a tea shop where you can purchase the teas featured on the menu, and a place to buy handmade pies and pastries. Additionally, there's a variety shop focusing on baking and cake-decorating supplies. The entire establishment seems to be largely run by English expatriates; I’ve even had the pleasure of meeting the owner, a genuinely lovely lady. As I mentioned, the overall vibe is very casual. Most patrons are older individuals enjoying tea in small groups, but I’ve noticed younger couples also frequenting the place. They often play classic TV shows at low volume (the last time we visited, *Keeping Up Appearances* was on), so even if you’re dining alone, there’s always something entertaining to watch. If nothing else, you should definitely try it for the fantastic variety of teas on offer. I haven’t encountered one I didn’t enjoy yet!
The tea was wonderful, and the scones were delicious. I'm looking forward to trying the high tea luncheon next!
Fantastic food, ambiance, and staff! This British shop and tearoom is undoubtedly the best in the Valley. The staff is incredibly polite and delightful to chat with. We tried the steak Guinness pie with mushy peas and the taste of Britain, and we highly recommend it for anyone missing the flavors of home. The prices are quite reasonable, and the service was outstanding. After lunch, we strolled down memory lane through the museum and picked up some British bacon and baked beans to take home. We absolutely loved it!
