The Gringo - Chicago

Booked a reservation here and the host at the time told us we should go elsewhere for brunch. We were the only people in the restaurant. We sat down and asked about the brunch menu. We were told they only had certain items on the menu and then he told us to go to another place. Very odd interaction. We didn’t end up ordering or eating any food.

The Gringo was a great place with awesome food and a cute seating area. Will definitely be back!

Unfortunately, the service was very slow. It took us an hour to get our appetizer and by that time it was late so we just decided to go home. I've been to The Gringo one other time (pre-covid) and the service was slow then too. I wanted to give it another chance but after this time I probably won't be back. The food is really good but you can find better tacos for cheaper.

Service was hard to find and it was hard to communicate our wishes not sure if it was the masks or what? Food was extremely salty and delayed. It ended up coming out cold. I wanted to like it but won’t be back.

I had a confirmed reservation for my husband’s birthday they were closed. Drove from the burbs to the city for this place. Super disappointing!
