Restaurant bewertenVery beautiful place, magnificent view, with a beautiful garden. Food was great! The service was friendly and always helpful, highly recommended
Not terrible. too much salt. not enough vegetables. decent service. beautiful ambience. I had the ****.
I adore the garden of this hotel: gigantic flowering, frondy plants in a jungle-like setting. The restaurant is perched above this, where you can aid your digestion with a good and inspiring view. What do you digest? If you are lucky, you may arrive there...on a morning when they serve a buffet breakfast for a tour group. This includes chicharrones in a green sauce, tamales, eggs a la mexicana or otherwise, chilaquiles, fresh fruit, an excellent coffee with refills and more. On non-tour mornings, you must order a la carte. Dinners and suppers include the typical dishes of Chiapa de Corzo.
Árbol de la Vida is the restaurant at Hotel La Ceiba, but it also offers outside guests, and indeed many locals come here. In other Mexican cities you will find better food, but in Chiapa de Corso (we have been here for three days)... it is probably the best option both for breakfast, lunch and dinner, because of the ambience: you sit on a quiet terrace on the first floor, the tables are with beautiful linen (a lot of space for groups of all sizes), and you have a look at a beautiful tropical garden, and the birds are shy. You have three WiFi (so it is also good to relax for a few hours), and service is excellent, but as almost always in Mexico, no English spoken (but English translations on the menu). In terms of food we cooked the Queso, Guacemole and Ensalada de la Casa (with fruits) that are all vegetarian. The wine, the cocktails and the Cervesa were also decent. They also have some good local meat specialties with Mol, which is based and tastes more or less like Gravy.
Surprising oasis near center of Chiapa de Corzo. The food was excellent, the service was super and the view of the hotel grounds was lovely! The restaurant is on the grounds of a hotel, but it is open to the public. We did not stay...at the hotel as we already had our lodging booked, but I would love to stay here on our next visit to Chiapas. Anyway, the restaurant employees were very helpful with food options for my vegan needs. I had some concoction with toasted pumpkin seed powder paste and it was fantastic! We also ordered the pre-hispanic drink pozol (not to be confused with the soup, pazole . Our cab driver explained that if we drink pozol in Chiapa de Corzo, our spirits would return to the area when we pass to the other side. This may not come true, but we will definitely pass through this area and make a stop here again for sure!
