Restaurant bewertenTo start, there was a miscommunication between my mom and me regarding the number of people in our party. When I informed the host, Rich, about the mistake, he rolled his eyes and shook his head, reacting in a manner that felt more appropriate for a teenager than a professional. I asked him if this was a problem and whether we should consider taking our business elsewhere. He responded that he needed us to understand how much effort went into setting up a table for 13, emphasizing the labor involved. I apologized for the miscommunication, but when someone else tried to step in and resolve the situation, he interrupted, assuring me that it would be fine and that we would be seated. Unfortunately, nearly all the meals we ordered had to be sent back. The chicken tenders were not just pink but completely raw in the center, and the beef Wellington was excessively rare. When we left, I noticed Rich sitting casually on the couch in the lobby—there was no farewell or inquiry about our meal. It’s disheartening for the Chester community to see a once-reputable eatery lose its way after serving as a beloved local establishment for so many years.
Last night was our second dinner at the Fullerton Inn since it came under new ownership. In an area that desperately needs better dining options, we were eager to support their efforts, even with a limited selection for non-meat eaters. We were aware they are currently in the process of reorganizing management, hiring new staff, and bringing in a new chef, so we expected some hiccups. Unfortunately, our experience was marred by a frustrated and unfriendly waitress, a number of unavailable menu items that left me with only the standard salad as my main course, and a poorly managed bar (our friends received their drinks, but ours were forgotten. We were not informed that the keg had run dry at that point. Much later, when we inquired about our drinks again, we finally found out). The delivery of our dinners was also delayed. Since we specifically chose this place and invited our friends, I found myself apologizing to them throughout the evening. While I know they are trying to improve, I can't say we will return anytime soon. Who wants to go out for a meal and spend money in an environment that isn't pleasant or accommodating? I truly hope they get things sorted out, as the community really needs more options for dining out.
I stumbled in looking for a meal after a day on the slopes and didn’t expect much—just a decent bite to eat. What I found, however, was incredible! The special potato skins, topped with bacon and white cheddar, had the perfect crunch of a potato chip combined with the heartiness of a baked potato. The beet salad was refreshing, the bread was packed with flavor, and the peanut butter pie was absolutely divine. I’ll definitely return the next time I’m in Chester!
Had dinner there the other night 4 of our 5 meals were ok, and the 5th one (cranberry chicken was overcooked and bland). Expected better food for the price. Service was good! Bar/dining area was good.
Lovely little spot in center of town. Pleasant staff. Comfortable. Nice continental style breakfast.
