Restaurant bewertenThe food is quite tasty, but the service leaves something to be desired.
I had high expectations for this place since I lived in Guadalajara for a long time. When I saw the name of the restaurant, I was hoping to find tortas ahogadas or quesabirrias on the menu, but unfortunately, they were just using the name; it felt more like a generic Mexican restaurant. The flautas de res lacked salt and flavor, and the meat was dry. One of my friends ordered the chicken quesadilla, which turned out to be extremely salty. Another friend had the carne asada, and it was also dry and devoid of any flavor. The only good item was the burrito.
I had high expectations for this restaurant due to its trendy location in a charming old house. Unfortunately, the hostess and waitress came across as unwelcoming, as if we were an inconvenience. The food was average at best, with dry chicken that didn't taste fresh. The so-called "jumbo" margarita was medium-sized, watered down, and lacking in flavor. I requested salt but never received any, and I didn't feel it was worth the trouble to send it back. Overall, I was completely disappointed and will definitely not be returning. I cannot recommend this place.
High prices for small portions. Spent $30 total on a pickup order for arroz con pollo, the lunch special that comes with a cheese enchilada and sides of rice and beans, and 2 canned drinks. Was happy we got free chips and salsa. My boyfriend and I were so disappointed when we opened our meals when we got home. You can see in the pictures (which are before eating any of either of them), the portions are just so tiny. I'm a small woman, doesn't take much for me to feel
Excellent restaurant with a long history in Charlottesville. Good food at decent prices, and really fast service. I've been going to this and its other locations for a very long time and have rarely been anything less than pleased.
