Vana - Charlotte

My wife and I, as well as our adult children, and friends have all eaten here many times. The quality of ingredients, the creative synthesis of flavors and textures, and the culinary experiences are always superb. We have never had less than a great experience. Fantastic cocktails and deserts as well.

Charlotte has some mediocre food options for high prices. This place is a nice location and building. It has really well made food. It is pricey but it’s a rare occasion it’s worth the pricing. Wouldn’t recommend for a budget date or something. More like a somewhat upper end night out. I’m docking a star just bc it was hot as hades in there. The staff and ourselves were cooking like a Turkey inside the building. No AC is a problem for a business in 1975. Aside from that the food is great. The staff were great and ready to work. Their drinks a very well made. You can see what’s happening in the kitchen. It’s clean and has openings at the front which is nice.

We were walking by this cozy corner spot and smelt the food and decided to stop and eat. Glad we did! They didn’t disappoint We got the mimosa pitcher,the fresh catch Snapper,it was roasted with oranges and rosemary ?? the snapper was falling off the bones,literally. The house grits had a hint of lime,quite the twist to a southern dish. My fiancé loved the burger but he couldn’t stop eating my fish(large enough for 2). The ambience is nice, waitress was very attentive. Love that you are able to see your food prepared. Will return soon.

Good experience overall. Love the way food is cooked, chargrilled right through. Hope to return to try more dishes

Visited here on a business trip. WOW! Food was extremely good. Got the Pork Cheeks, which reminded me of carnitas, BUT this popped with flavor! I was cutting it with my fork. Also shared a pepperoni pizza made in their brick oven, just wow, tons of flavor in this place. We sat near the opening to the street and people watched while we waited for our food. Was an awesome experience for my first time in NC.Get the CHEEKS!
