Royal American - Charleston

The staff was nice. The food was good. I won't give it much more than good bar food. By the way, when you visit Charleston, note that local taxes on food 11%. I thought it was a bit high.

Amazing food, drinks and service. We really enjoyed the 3 live bands last night.

Definition if a dipable. Great people, great drinks, wonderful location and terraces. Food is drool worthy and will long you more. Lance's way patty melt becomes any vegan spin! Chicken wings and their dry ruin are a must. Kitchen is open until 1 o'clock so if all others are closed they are still open!

This does not seem like a place that fits with the typical Charleston crowds, which makes it even better! The food was amazing. Prolly one of the best French dives I had in the tub. The Bourbon punch was also great. Will definitely be back for more. Only a warning there is no table service for those who do not want to get up and get their own stuff.

Friendly place that can be a dive bar, a restaurant with good burgers and more, a place for more upmarket beers and cocktails, or some combination of all the above. Nice to have an outside area and two inside areas as well. Plentiful easy parking too.
