Restaurant bewertenWe booked because they allowed dogs. miserable staff who ignored us when we arrived and told us our very small dog was not allowed in dining room. we were sent down the road to a burger place, which was not to our liking. shabby room, dated bathroom, dirty old carper, no water in room or fridge. at breakfast staff miserable, loud music, no offer of help with coffee machine, a very mean breakfast. we would not return.
Beautiful food in a lovely setting, the fire was roaring in the main dining room fireplace, but it would have been equally nice to eat outside on the terrace in the tranquil garden. We chose the 4 course 50 Euro menu (starter, main, cheese and desserts) and this was supplemented by a gazpacho amuse bouche and lemon sorbet palate cleanser, coffee and petit fours. All dishes were delicious and beautifully presented and the cheese chariot was amazing. They even had a children's menu!
Stayed 2 nights in nice room with view over the valley. But needed a PhD to work the complicated shower. Ate in the restaurant both nights which was excellent. Breakfast was ok with good coffee. Swam in the outdoor pool which is a reasonable size. Also did massages which were very relaxing and we followed up with a wine tasting session organised in the cave below the hotel. Nice location for gentle walks - reception has a list 14 walks available. Hotel has a very cute chapel in honour of Saint Jacques.
We had a 5 course meal. All of the dishes were ok without being exceptional. We finished with an assortment of deserts which was good but the portions were too large as a 5th course.
A table to stop by as each taste is worth it. Attached pictures are just showing the art. Come and taste it on site ... We really enjoyed our week end. The sommelier knows very well his job.
