La Taverne Du Chateau

The castle of castelanaud is a very beautiful state of conservation. it is possible to park at the bottom of the village, but you will have to walk 10 to 15 min or reach the parking lot at the top. more in the middle of August, the parking lot of the bottom is very often complete while the top often have many free places and even offer pitches for campers. more reason to try the car parks upstairs. which will also happen by the very charming village of the summit with its many clusters. The castle is centered around medieval wars and especially on the 100-year war. There is essentially a museum of weapons used at the time (white weapons, artillery, seats and jet weapons) with a very beautiful model animated with its light of the French battle to resume the castle of the hands of the English. on the other hand, it is absolutely not furnished. Finally, the castle also offers many performances of actors, animations around the medieval seat as well as an introduction to the forge techniques of the time. the approach is resolutely educational and is rather well done. It'll delight the children. However, wait for good shoes, because you do not get up and go down. And a gurus in the summer, because it's very hot.

You can't call this place a restaurant but a snack or a tourist take! Very few choices:2 poor salads at 10€ which is normally an entrance and not a dish that we have come out we have always been hungry and for children to be taken ham sandwiches, emmental. 4,50€ is very expensive! and for the staff except this very nice girl, the gentleman of about fifty years who must be the manager is really unpleasant

Beautiful castle overlooking the village. make the choice to park in the village where at the top of 10 minutes of the castle they are all paid (not to the possibility of free parking on the right by exiting the bridge. leaving the village, you will take the walking path that goes up and crosses the old part of the village where the other option that passes through the upper part. at the castle two choices the visit on a solo or accompany. There are many fun and historical animations to see. the visit is not possible if we have a mobility problem. toilets are on site and possible restoration in the village.

We were very welcome in this restaurant. Quick service despite a crowded terrace. A really helpful and smiling staff, who really has the sense of service. Coated dishes with very good products. From the entrance to the dessert, everything was really good. plates very well presented, with different flavors of what you can find. Bravo! The terrace is really beautiful! Do not hesitate during your visit to the castle, to make a small stop at the Taverne. Value for money up! until the date of my opinion on 18/08/2021: After the very good experience of last year, we returned with our friends (we had not vanity the quality of the cuisine of this restaurant that we had come to 7, desirous of feasting. What was not our disappointment: a slate limited to 3 salads and 3 sandwiches a coolest reception, a server that just listened to you, and a slow service (yes for sandwiches! .the best in bread: 1 poor slice of brie and 2 salad leaves for 4.5€! I'm sorry. salads served at the nearby tables (between 7 and 8 euros did not even look like an entrance. Given the price, it's unacceptable. We asked the young waitress (who was by far the most friendly if she had changed ownership: she told us that no, there was a big problem of staff because of the covid. Ok we understand better, but from there to propose such products is unacceptable. No need to be a star chef to grill the steak and cook fries! Collation at the bottom of the street is good and cheaper! At the end, we return almost empty belly (we took pancakes to compensate and relieve 81 euros for 7 sandwiches and some pancakes. I'm not coming back soon! The lack of staff will never justify an almost empty sandwich.
