Restaurant bewertenWe visited o cacador in a public holiday not a good decision. the restaurant has changed the hands a few months ago and from the gloomy of time, has become extremely popular. Unfortunately this had a massive influence on the service and the availability of articles. in the menu. While we were in the position to order, our appetizers arrived a bit, as our waiter went back and in front of the kitchen to collect the items left behind us. getting drinks was almost impossible. the main courts when they arrived were a short one, as the stocks of our first choice had expired. an alternative arrived quickly, but it was obvious that the team that was the grill had run out of some articles and the waiting staff did not inform. on a positive note that eating that arrived was good, the employment is very pleasant, the staff was friendly, but ran wut. we go back because the restaurant is the only one in the opposite is to offer game. the group of 10 on the table next to us left without paying if only 2 of their main courses were delivered after almost an hour waiting. they gave us on the way out their dishonest half-flakes weeping. on a normal day, I am sure that the service would be very different, but the team must work out how to manage the restaurant in its busiest for everyone.
It is a short drive from portimao on the road to monchique. the restaurant is located in a rural environment that creates a farm effect. the host and servier staff were very friendly and helpful and the decoration; rustic with a hauch of antiques. we had. the day-dish known locally as prato dia. we had a partly grilled goat with bratkartoffel and a partly boar. both, very good. we can strongly recommend the starter plate of presunto and cheese that was accompanied by many fresh brot. what a tasty bite. all with a crippled sweet house wine that had a harbour met sangria vibe.
From the main road to the Monichque upper side, not that far over the autobahn a22, when they drive to the north, it will be on the right side. there are signs, but well worn, so they have a look at the order. Many...Portugueses travel to this restaurant when they smell the kitchen on the grill, they can understand why. large selection of meat, fish are grilled predominantly for them. we enjoyed both monkfish spits when we called. there is a very inexpensive beverage menu, but the house wine costs only 4,90€ for a 1 liter carafe! I in fact the whole bill for wein, big water, brot, olive, sardine pate, coffee the 2 monkfish skewers less than 38€ the tip of monichque is another 30 minutes, so they can on the route up or down. the journey worth it!
Service was extremely slow, but the older gent who served us made up for this with his sweet personality. The food was not exceptional but with the ambiance and families enjoying themselves all around it was most enjoyable.
We came here in the afternoon after visiting places and we found this hidden gem, so thought we would try it as it was busy with locals. (always follow where the locals eat)We had a language barrier whilst ordering but we both understood each other as menu had english, portuguese, and spanish, french and german menu. we sat outside and it did not look much, it was a very humble restaurant. we ordered Peri peri chicken (half), Pork loin steak and lamb chops with side of fries alongside a 0.5lt of red house wine and ice tea, starters we had bread and olives, we ordered sardines but i think it was forgotten or it was misunderstood. BUT when the food came the portion was big, even the fries was a platter! and that was just a side. the chicken was succulent and so did the pork and lamb, the salad was fresh. The house red wine was amazing and they made it themselves, it was soo good we got 2 bottles to take away and the owner gave it to us for 3 euros only! the bill we had came about 43 euros with the 2 bottles of wine, it was just soo good value for money for what we ate and drank, it maybe luck out of blue but always go were the locals eat and so we did.
