Blue House Bakery Cafe - Carlsbad

A very friendly place. It was our first time but many customers seemed to be regulars. Best latte I've had in a while. I had the spinach and feta croissant. Delicious! Husband had the breakfast burrito which he enjoyed and excellent dark roast coffee. Then we shared a berry scone. Also good. You can eat on the porch, inside if you are lucky enough to snag a table, or outside in the covered yard. We are going back tomorrow. Much better than hotel free breakfast.

My favorite restaurant in Carlsbad, an oasis with peaceful garden seating, and friendly staff and customers in a cozy historic house near downtown. Wonderful homemade pastries. Love the breakfast scones and muffins. Whole cakes and pies can be ordered. Try the egg bowl and bagel with cream cheese and green chile. Breakfast is served until 11 am but it is still open for coffee and pasties until noon.

Great atmosphere, good vibe. Enjoyed the Belgium waffle, they don't bring silverware to your table so grab some while in line, not a big deal.

This place is an OASIS in a town of minimal variety and hit or miss quality. The coffee is good. The food is excellent. The prices are phenomenal. Atmosphere is wonderful. Service is good too. It gets crowded starting at 8am, each time we went around 730 we missed the crowd. Seriously EVERYTHING we had here was mind blowingly delicious. The croissant texture on the breakfast sandwich was one of the best I've experienced. The breakfast bowl was a perfect portion size for me, which I really appreciated, I dislike huge portions especially when I'm in a situation where I can't take it with me. I'm very very snooty and picky about my coffee and almost always despise black coffee at cafes due to its old, cheap taste BUT the refill coffee here was actually good and I enjoyed it a lot. WOOOW I got their rosemary cookie and I'm pretty sure I transcended into a rosemary heaven. I wanted to shove through the crowd to buy 27 more. HIGHLY recommend this place. Plus there's a sweet kittie outside, so 10 stars. Anybody who's ever poorly reviewed this place (recently) is wrong ?‍
