Lazy Monk's Cafe - Carindale

They did not have the beers on the menu's no desserts and even ran out of wine ! the Thai fried rice was nice but even though i do not eat fish, even i knew that the fish we were served was NOT snapper or salmon, as both these are not thick flesh or white., The entrees were not bad but of the dishes we ordered, three dishes tasted the same. Service was polite to the point of bordering on rude as obviously, we were not regulars and being late we were encroaching on their close up time

I have waited for years to eat at this restaurant. People rave about it, the food is awesome, blah blah blah. 1. The food is amazing. 2. The service was atrocious. We stood at the entrance, and watch a young man stack plates, a girl walk past us twice, and possibly dear old dad at the counter. We waited, we waited, we waited, until we 'oiled ' them. It was like we appeared from thin air. Anyway, the whole night, all three of them clustered together, looked over the food coming out of the kitchen, talking about it, organising the tonnes of Uber Eats, while we watched. A pineapple was placed in front of us. We ordered pineapple rice, but there was no additional food coming, so we waited. At least 10 minutes. Then they came and took it away. Wrong table. So we waited some more. Then got the pineapple rice, the green curry prawns, but a beef massaman, when we ordered beef garlic chilli basil combo. by this stage, we didn 't care, so started eating. Then over came the beef dish. They kept the right beef dish and didn 't offer it to us, despite seeing the mistake. The table next to us then had to wait for them to re-cook their dinner. Serious, Basil from Faulty Towers could have done a better job! It was PAINFUL to watch. When we were driving home in the car, one of friends asked if we all noticed when the three staff went out for a smoko together! Clearly by then, I had mentally checked out. Still, the food was divine.

Love this place food was amazing and service was spot on. Do yourself a favour and get the chef specials. Amazing

31.1.20. This restaurant always used to be full, not last night and it's obvious why. Staff didn't take drink order on or soon after arrival. Had to ask to order. Ordered 6 meals and rice, 5 arrived after a long delay. Waiter who took our order had language problems and even though we went through the order 3 times they failed. Food seriously poor. My vegetables in peanut sauce with tofu. The tofu was hard, I like satay sauce that tastes of peanuts. Unfortunately no taste of peanut just chili and more chili, inedible. No apology for missed main course, never going back!

The Golden Budda is a very comfortable Restaraunt with an excellent food range. The various dishes we selected were of a very high quality, freshness and flavour, served at a very high standard by very friendly staff. I have been back since my first visit and would highly recommend even for a take away meal.
