Restaurant bewertenI always loved wahaca when I heard that they came to cardiff, I was thrilled. Since they opened two years ago, I visited regularly and a consistently high degree of service, eating and atmosphere. the personal is friendly, the food quality is always fantastic and so full of taste, the place is always immaculately clean and it still looks brand new today. Price-quality ratio is also good that they want as much or as little as they like, but I would say an average cost for a meal and a drink is about £15. I go in the rule for eating the street that they cannot miss are the pork pibil tacos, steak tacos, chipotle chickenerquesadillas and the sweet kartoffel taquitos. make sure to try something they usually don't have, that's the joy of it!
My friend brought me here when I visited a cardiff after a year. this was recently opened (last year I was not at cardiff . I loved it. first they used my favorite colors to decorate the place. that helped. there are three etagens that are different in each case. the top floor in which the toilets are, these swinging ice chairs have: when they sit and say that they were not yet in wahaca, they explain how it works. but I would suggest to get the street food option and order more than one of the black bean tostadas. we sat beside two wahaca veterans who had actually suggested the black bean tostada. they knew what we were talking about because we had to order a second because it was just too good.
Everyone knows I love wahaca. I have eaten many paints in london, I have written about her greender, 2005 Master Chef thomasina miers before, and later in the august I wrote how excited I was when she announced wahaca came to cardiff . I love her because eating is great, but also because they have a compassion in the world farming ‘Good Chicken’ award for the shedding of farmer. in fact they have won numerous awards for quality, sustainability and design; among them the observer food monthly award for best cheap eat in Great Britain and the sustainable restaurant group of the year in 2012 and 2013.
You know how the old saying goes. master competitions are like buses – they wait for an old and then they all come at once. in the room of only three weeks master boss 2013 finalists dale and larkin have opened their high-end Chinese takeaway hokkei on crwys road; masterchef 2010 winner dhruv baker rocked for a one-off café club in cafe malaysia; and probably the biggest news from all, master boss 2005 winner thomasina miers opened the first filiale outside of london the multi-lauded mexikanka chain. the wahaca is located in the heart of the city center of cardiff and has an eclectic multi-storey dining area. mural, multicolored flowing and potting plants are all part of the decoration mix, while an evening no-reservation policy snooze) means that there was a constant turnover of tables there was a hefty snake until the time we leave). the menu consists of two main sections – street food, i.e. separate plates, where it is suggested that they order 2-3 per person and platos fuertes, i.e. larger plates that can be divided one or more. both options are surprisingly good with the smaller plates weigh in about £4 and the large plates £10. nibbles of light and airy quaver-like poroscraters £4.45) were served with a cloby and cingy guacamol. they are probably the best scratches in cardiff – except naturally for jazz. the tasty scratches were washed with a selection of tequila-charged drinks from the cocktail menu well inexpensive with most around £6). a pure classic margarita £6.40) deftly balanced sweet, sour and tasty. while a mojito £6.25) was replaced with tequila as the main component, it did not contain a worse for him) a generous kick of minze and a spin of lime.
Had a good dinner with delicious cocktails! The pork tacos were very tasty, however I found the meat filling to be a little dry. The fish tacos on the other hand were extremely crispy, while being moist and flaky on the inside! Definitely one of the best fish tacos I’ve had. The guacamole was fresh and helped to cut through the richness of the tacos, although a little more salt wouldn’t hurt. Lastly, the crispy cauliflower pieces were very crisp, however they were rather too tasty for its own good. Nonetheless, the service was excellent!
