Restaurant bewertenMy friends and I stopped by this spot on a Wednesday on our way out of town. We loved the vibe within the cafe lots of artist's work on display and for sale (photography, sculpture, jewelry etc. There were several places to sit with chairs, tables and comfy sofa like seats. It was quiet and comfortable inside overall a really inviting atmosphere! I ordered an iced tea and a blueberry scone. The black tea tasted great and the scone was packed with blueberries. There were several vegan options on the baked goods menu as well as a variety of non dairy milk available for your coffee/espresso drinks. The staff was friendly and chatty! I don't live close enough to visit often but if you're in the area, I would definitely stop by this place! Just be sure to check the hours, they are only open a few days a week.
One of my all time favorite food stops in west Virginia, incorporating excellent local sourced farm fresh produce and meat everything tastes home made. I have traveled all over the world, Korea, Japan, Alaska and the left half of the US and the food hear easily makes top 5 while the environment makes top 3.
Incredible little gem out here in Capon Bridge. Didn't know what to expect but was so pleasantly surprised by the food, kind staff and warm vibes. Will be coming back !
I LOVVVVVVEEE THE RIVER HOUSE! This place has single handedly changed our community! Music, Art, Coffee Delicious FOOD!?!? YES!! Every weekend is PACKED with activity! Open mic nights to photography club to Art Classes to artisan MARKET! So so so happy to have this place! A cool place to hang out and bring friends and family! Thank you RH!!!!!
One fortunate discovery leads to another: We have been following the wonderful Daniel Kelly Trio, based in Winchester, VA, for quite some time now. The River House was one of the nearby venues where they were scheduled to perform, so we decided to make a visit a week before the concert to get a sense of the place. We found it to be gentle and visually pleasing in a subtle, understated manner. The River House is perched on a tree-covered bank of the Cacapon River, near the green riveted truss bridge, symbolizing the meeting point of the eternal and the fleeting. Inside, the venue exudes a similarly quiet, cozy vibe that is reminiscent of ASMR—like a steadfast oasis amidst a sea of confusion and discontent. Rather than delve into specific details about the food and decor, I would recommend that if you’re traveling in that direction, you should definitely check out the River House. There's a good chance you'll enjoy it as much as we did.
