Restaurant bewertenOur time at Elaine’s was too good to be true great rooms, cute boutique, great restaurant and bars but unfortunately the service is not on point. After a very expensive weekend, multiple outfits purchased, several dinners and breakfasts eaten and drinks served but ultimately one bad service interaction can really put you off from a place. We enjoyed stopping by the bar and getting a quick drink before our reservation or plans for the evening. We let our server know we would only be staying for a quick drink, she took our order shortly came back grabbed our menus and said while shaking her head at us “if you don’t order food you need to go order at the bar and sit over there” and then canceled our drink order. Disappointing that management will not address these problems and lets their staff treat paying customers poorly and rudely.
This was one of the worst breakfast dining experiences I’ve ever had in my whole existence. There was a hair in my omelette and the food was equivalent to an 8 year olds amateur cooking. I asked for my home fries well done and they came out mushy and soggy. My water cup was a little baby plastic cup filled with ice and it only gave me 2 sips. There was nothing fine about this dining at all. Be prepared to be confronted with hostility after giving a poor tip for poor service before you leave the establishment as well. I wouldn’t recommend this place to my worst enemy. Over priced food that’s just isn’t good.
This review is exclusively for small outside bar. Every time my family and I come to Cape May we stop by this small boutique outside bar, and we end up having so much fun. Drinks are good, food is good, and lively atmosphere. Staff is welcoming. We usually go there after dinner, after dropping kids off. My favorite place to unwind with my husband.
This review is focused solely on the small outdoor bar. Each time my family and I visit Cape May, we make it a point to stop by this charming little bar, and we always have a fantastic time. The drinks are great, the food is tasty, and the atmosphere is lively. The staff is friendly and welcoming. We typically head there after dinner, once we’ve dropped the kids off. It's my favorite spot to relax with my husband.
When my crab cakes finally arrived, they were ice cold. The server didn't check on us during our meal, and by the time she returned, my friends had finished eating while I hadn't even started. She offered to remove the crab cakes from the bill or get me something quickly, but she didn't apologize for the oversight. I decided to have the crab cakes taken off the bill, but by then, my friends were done eating, so I ended up not having anything. It was frustrating to have to track down a server just to rectify their mistake in a timely manner; that shouldn’t be the case when dining out. Overall, I left feeling disappointed and hungry. The food and drinks simply weren't worth the price.
