Restaurant bewertenI guess you have to be a regular who tips well to get anything like service here. Two of us were being "treated" to dinner here by someone who is a regular. She was greeted by the waiter / maitre d' like a long lost daughter, and older man with a raspy voice. When she began to introduce us to him he cut her off and refused to acknowledge our existence - incredibly rude. We then listened for 5 minutes to his recent medical history before he lead us to our table. His service continued to be rude and perfunctory to the guests and fawning and too familiar to our hostess. The food itself was nothing special -bland veal al fungole in a generic red sauce, indifferent salmon; the buns were fresh and warm, vegetables crisp and fresh but very spare. Absolutely nothing special, nothing to write home about. And given the rude service from the waiter, we won't be back and will not agree to be "treated" here again.
We were there on a Friday evening. The restaurant was very quiet when we arrived for our 6PM reservation but it filled up quickly as our meal progressed. Service was efficient and friendly. We were a group of 7 Family and Eextended-family members. The food was very good, portions were appropriate (not too much, but ample for all appetites - one diner had to take her pasta vongole home and when it was eaten a day later, pronounced it "delicious") Wine choices were very good according to our wine "selector" and although I did not see the list, prices seemed in line with expectations. There were daily specials offered which many of us did select - all were delicious. I had the salmon trout served on a bed of spinach. The fish was perfectly cooked and the accompaniments were lovely. It was the perfect backdrop for all the lively conversation and anecdotes which are the core of any reunion. Bravo!
My wife and I had dinner here on a quiet Thursday evening. Good menu with wide range of Italian favourites. Fresh bread delivered to start. The bruschetta that followed was warm, fresh and tasty. We shared a caprese salad which they split in the kitchen and served on separate plates -- and still a decent size. Pasta mains were well prepared. A large piece of Tiramisu for dessert was more than enough for sharing, and excellent decaf coffee. Service was efficient but not rushed. A pleasant place for a good meal. With a half litre of house white the bill was not cheap but quite reasonable for a modestly upscale experience. Interior decoration is fairly traditional Italian without being too hokey. Easy parking. We will certainly return.
I have been here three times, and have enjoyed the food and service each time. The first time the service and entertainment was amazing, the food was little better than average. However, the next two times, the food was very good to excellent. We will be back!
We took our daughter out for her birthday supper and decided to eat Italian. We have been to many Italian restaurants and have lived in Italy so we know about Italian restaurants. After looking at the reviews about this restaurant, we decided to give this restaurant a chance. The food was excellent as was the service. We will be coming back here again.
