Restaurant bewertenIt was an amazing experience. we had so much fun. great selection of tee and snacks. the teapots and tassen look so sweet. my little cousin was so happy and always talks about the whole time.
This is definitely a special event type of thing. My daughter had a wonderful few hours. She had never been to the Palliser and that was a treat in itself. Food was marvellous. Service attentive but maybe a little slow. We were ok with that aspect as we took our time soaking it al in.
The ambience, crockery, cutlery, setting n service was absolutely beautiful. Alas, the food fell short in various ways. I was in London, UK past Aug and had a few afternoon teas at various places, hence the comparison. The scones are were fresh and tasty, but a tad smaller portion. Overall, with the condiments quite nice. 8/10. The savoury selection of sandwiches was good on paper. Egg Salad sandwich was tasty and wholesome. The beef one had a nice combination. Chicken was alright too, but could have had some grilled/barbq meat to give a change in taste. The Cucumber sandwich was visually beautiful, but really bland. perhaps the cucumber was extremely thinly sliced and thus couldn't taste it. The shrimp tart was the real downer. It was dry crusty, and couldn't taste the shrimp or any other flavour. I think it should be changed to a veggie quiche. Please keep in mind that Calgary has very dry weather, thus the bread edges were getting dry quite quickly. It would be appropriate to cover with a damp cloth or a wrap, to retain moisture. In the dessert section, the chocolate and mocha ones were alright, no complaints. The lychee and the lemon ones were just too exotic or thats all i could taste. I do no eat macaroons at all, so swapped with my friend. The tea selection was quite varied and seemed interesting. We were offered to try one tea each and had to stick to the same one throughout the sitting. My friend and I sampled each others, but would have preferred to try atleast one more variery of tea. Prior to eating, I would have preferred a refreshing tea and then with desserts to have another flavour, perhaps a plain black one to be able to taste.
Nice high tea set up but the scone variety at chateau lake louise are much better!!
We had a wonderful time, the food was delicious and we had a wonderful seat by the fireplace. Service was amazing, and they even brought out a cute little birthday cake for the birthday girl! 10/10 would recommend.
