Restaurant bewertenThis cute restaurant has a perfect setting with outdoor lights and view. We even saw a kangaroos hopping through the parking lot. With 3 dining, we enjoyed the Bruschetta sampler (pear with Brie was our fav), Chicken carbonara Crocodile popcorn. Everything was delicious! The place was busy with only one server, but she was pleasant and we weren't in a hurry! Give it a go!
We came here a year ago, and as promised, came back again this year. Hands down, amazing meal yet again. This time I had Fish with a coconut mushroom risotto, smashing! My husband had Steak, which he loved as well. The only negative feedback I will give, I did not see a price for the drinks (not wine and beer, those had prices) But the cocktails. Im not sure if I missed it somewhere on the menu. The cocktails are a bit pricey. Next time, I will have to limit myself to just one drink. My fault, I didn't ask. But don't let this stop you from a visit. The place is great!
Alpha Morphic Fusion Cusine. That was the tagline on their menu. Whatever that means, food 's pretty good. One of the better restaurants in the Trinity Beach area, though a little spendy even by Aussie standards. Open for breakfast on weekends and for dinner every night. We ordered the Crocodile pop corn slathered with hollandaise sauce and the Egyptian prawns. BTW, crocodile tastes like chicken. The prawns were well-fried with crispy flaky batter in a fantastic sauce. They also had pretty unique offerings for breakfast, with eye catching names such as the Duck 's Nuts (eggs/bacon/toast/baked beans). I got the Breakfast Trifle, it 's like practically like having dessert for breakfast. This place came in as finalist for some restaurant awards in North Queensland in the last few years and I can see why. Unpretentious place, with a quirky menu that is an eclectic mix of western, Australian and South East Asian dishes. If I 'm ever in Cairns again, will drive up here.
We ate dinner on Saturday at Blue Moon Grill. When we arrived they didn't have our reservation which wasn't a problem because the restaurant was relatively empty. Upon sitting down, we ordered the barramundi spring rolls only to be told they were sold out. We found it odd considering it was a Saturday and they had only been open for 2 hours. We ordered our entrees. After about 45 minutes we realized that no one in the restaurant had received their meals while we had been there. Everyone in the restaurant looked very angry. I went to go check on our meals after an hour and after not having received any communication from the wait staff. After about 1 hour 15 minutes we finally received our dinner, ahead of about 3 other tables. The crocodile popcorn was incredibly salty and the chicken satay had an equal ratio of peanut sauce to rice. The family next to us left after waiting 2 hours and before ever receiving their food. I don't know if the chef quit or got fired, but there was something wrong with the kitchen that night.
Great food but pricey. Ambience: A place that seems a step above the other restaurants nearby but it comes with a premium. A great place for a special night out or the happy hour. Open setting means it's nice and airy inside and out. Food: We had a selection of tapas options which were on special for happy hour. All were good but the standout was a compilation of 3 crostini. Some great flavors and clearly there's a chef who knows his/her stuff. Price: On the high side.
