Restaurant bewertenWe went to this restaurant to buy some lunch on Easter Sunday. After placing a big order ( For more than 7 items) , our entertainment book voucher was declined. We were told it is not valid for some public holidays. But as per the Entertainment book, this clause is valid for Restaurants listed in sections A-C and this restaurant is listed in the section D. But the person who was in the restaurant was very rude and very unprofessional.
Had a meal on Friday night with 4 friends and it was great. Greeted warmly on entry, water and menus arrived very soon after seating. Questions answered about food and order taken. Food arrived hot and well presented. Delicious. Enjoyed every dish. Can highly recommend this restaurant.
Ordered satay chicken. Didn't have any flavour and was very runny. Not good. This was the second time we have been there and have been disappointed both times.
We came for dinner as it was in my Entertainment Book voucher and there were 5 of us. It was a hot day and the restaurant at 6pm was....HOT!! I asked for the air cond to be switched on but was told it wasn't effective as the sun came thru the window!! OK!! We all asked for water. It was luke warm. I asked for some ice and was told they didn't have any!! Really??? I asked. "Yes" she said. "Our fridge is a Liptons Iced Tea one and we can't put the cold water in it". Fine. "Can you get some ice out of the kitchen freezer then?" "No we don't have". This conversation is going from the sublime to the ridiculous. We asked for chillers for the wine and was given metal buckets with no cold water and no ice in them but they did come out of the fridge. Now, the food - generally speaking, very average. Specifically, the chicken & sweetcorn soup was woeful. Two tiny bits of chicken and a couple of bits of corn was all that was in it. The rest was a watered down stock with lots of egg white drifting thru it. Totally tasteless even with a bucketload of salt in it. My friend had the Short Soup and said it was OK with some soy sauce in it. Personally I think that defeats the object. The hot meals were "OK" but I wouldn't rave about it. Serves were a good size. The spice level wasn't up to par in the 5 spice chilli salt ribs though the meat was tender. The (supposedly) curry seafood combination came out without the curry. The waitress was a very young teenager and we didn't want her running off in tears so we just "sucked it up".My friend said overall she thought it was OK and she'd go back. Personally, I felt there are a lot better Chinese to go to so I certainly would not go back.
This would have to be the worst Chinese food I have ever eaten. The fried rice was absolutely terrible with obvious frozen Vegetables mixed in with it and big cubes of processed ham tipped straight out of the bag also. I couldn't believe that they would actually serve it up the way they did. And if you can make an omelette with no eggs then these guys can. It was orange in colour and obviously had a lot of flour or some sort of filler in it. Also disgusting. We only went there because the Jade Cafe Chinese was closed even though they are supposed to be open 7 days. I hope this restaurant doesn't get any Chinese people going there. They are obviously taking the pi**!
