Restaurant bewertenOLD SCHOOL DINER . Food is great . I love the pork chop diner . Just like mom used to make. Breakfast anytime . Best Western Sandwich you will ever have . Love this place and the price is very cheap for the food you get . Try a burger if your hungry .
Wimpey's has the best clubhouse sandwich in Burlington, hands down. I find it hilarious that another reviewer objected to "thick turkey, the kind I hate". Wimpey's roasts their own turkeys in house. Their turkey clubs are AUTHENTIC. If you want thin, processed turkey meat on your clubhouse, hop over to Kelsey's and pay $18.00 for it. Wimpey's has an extensive menu; which makes it hard for me to decide what I want when we're not there for breakfast. The food is never greasy (especially important at breakfast) and is consistently fresh, flavourful and well cooked. I wish the location was a bit bigger; it's pretty cramped. For the dollar value, for diner style food, Wimpey's is our go to.
I went there today and ordered the ultimate clubhouse sandwich, when it came out, the turkey was REALLY thick, the kind I hate so I send it back, barely taking a bite. The girl had a bit of an attitude which never is good. I switched the meal for something else. When we got the bill, we noticed there was a random 5.25 charge on the bill, apparently they can only void half the first meal and charged for the thing I landed up getting too. We complained about the extra charge which we were never told about and they didn't do anything. If we knew we would have gotten charged for food I didn't touch, I wouldn't have ordered anything else. I would have just gotten something cheap someplace else. The manager was standing in the kitchen giving us a rude glare, he didn't look friendly at all, I feel bad for the staff there if he's as unfriendly as he looks. Needless to say, since we were never told about having to pay half, we didn't tip since obviously the waitress should know their policy by now. It's a shame since I live literally across the street and they could have had a regular there but with business like that, I won't even step in the door again. I rather go the extra distance to Denny's.
Down to earth, old school diner. Food was very good and so was the service. Reasonably priced and good size portions.
This place is so up front about what it's offering and then does a great job of doing just that. It's a retro diner, but this location is spotless and new. It's brightly colored and clean inside. The service was prompt and super friendly. We had a bit of everything- burgers, onion rings, breakfast stuff and burgers. Everything was freshly prepared and tasty. This is a fun, friendly, moderately priced diner experience!
