Castle Inn - Bungay

Was very impressed by the freshness and quality of the food here. I did not have extremely high expectations but was pleasantly surprised. Lovely staff too. Well worth a visit when in the area.

Went to the Castle Inn for a Friday night meal out with my partner. The food was delicious (especially the Thai fishcake starter and the mussels which were both incredible and beautifully presented. Varied menu which features lots of local produce. Great bottle of wine...which was really reasonably priced (the Rioja I think). The serving staff were absolutely lovely; smiley and attentive without being overbearing at all. I am also a very fussy customer in terms of LIGHTING and I am pleased to say that the Castle Inn have got it down; candles, firelight and just the right volume on the music.... We were the last people in there and we felt really welcome and under no pressure to leave; and were even offered a sloe gin on the house to finish our meal. Thank you Castle Inn for a lovely night out, we will be back

I stayed over Christmas and had the most pleasant time! the room where I stayed (mettingham) was spacious, comfortable and clean and I couldn't make it in any wise mistake. also the very comfortable bed that I was informed was a. decent shopping, lush! the restaurant/bar down is also ideal for socialization with the beautiful staff and owners, I will definitely miss chan, stuart, lindsay and olivia and will make the biggest effort in and say hi when I am next to bungay. eating is also delicious, especially the free breakfast! the evening menu is also delicious and includes a lot of dressed, but I advise everyone to try the pork bell nudels. a total of 5 stars, there would be 6 if I could. I hope to see her soon!

For 3 nights booked; bar and restaurant for 2 days closed and we were not informed before we stay so the only facility was actually available the bedroom. the bedroom was over the kitchen and was unbearable hot; we had to. shorten our stay because of this. the staff was very nice and the only meal we had was excellent.

We just ate in the castle inn in bungay. the food was excellent. it was freshly prepared and hot pierced. I had the best pad thai I ever had!
