Restaurant bewertenThe best restaurant in Bundaberg has unfortunately burned down. I hope Patto opens up at a new location and is able to achieve the same level of success as before.
During my business trip to Bundaberg, I decided to have a meal at the Spotted Dog. I was surprised to see the restaurant nearly full on a Tuesday night. Luckily, we were able to find a table. The menu was extensive, offering a variety of options. I chose the James Squire beer battered Australian Red Emperor, which was a generous portion with chips, salad, and sauce. The meal was delicious and I would recommend it for those looking for a casual dining experience at a reasonable price. However, due to the busyness of the restaurant, we had to wait almost an hour for our meals. I would suggest making a reservation and arriving early to avoid long wait times.
While passing through Bundaberg with an hour and a half left before reaching our hostel, my husband and I searched for dinner and stumbled upon Spotted Dog Tavern. It was 6pm on a Friday night and upon arrival, we were asked if we had made reservations, which we hadn't. I overheard another staff member informing some customers that the restaurant had been fully booked for two weeks. Fortunately, they were able to find a table for us and we perused the menu. There was a wide variety of options to choose from. I opted for an Asian wok noodle dish, while my husband chose a pulled pork pizza. Both dishes were enjoyable (I would rate them 3 stars each) and quite filling. With drinks included, our bill came to about $55 AUD, which we found to be reasonably priced. The atmosphere in the restaurant was lively and welcoming to families. As we prepared to leave, live music began playing. I cannot speak to other dining options in the area, but in terms of food, Spotted Dog Tavern is a good choice for a meal if you are passing through Bundaberg.
The street side coffee booth sells, in addition to great coffee, some of the best lamb pies. There's also chicken pie, quiche (of both the bacon/tomato and spinach/ricotta variety) and muffins etc.
Menu was inconspicuous and lacked in the range of GF options that we expected my kisch was ‘tired’ place unrivaling staff very responsible and helpful beer garden on the back was blocked had access thru the bars with our dog
