La Fonda del Polo - Buenos Aires

From the moment we walked in the door, sweaty and casually dressed, we were treated as though we were the best of customers.The service was very attentive (English a little rough), the food was superb (do try the chimmichurri - a delicious condiment served with meat) and the atmosphere struck me as very cozy and yet you could dress up or down.They know what they're doing there.

La Fonda is one of those parrillas of Buenos Aires where you always want to go back. Reason: the warm atmosphere, the excellent service, the meat cuts, of excellent quality, plus a very inclusive menue, offering excellent pasta, fish, elaborate salads, very good desserts and much more. It is a classic. You will always be satisfied.It is a place to go either with family, friends, couples.Tip: they take reservtions,though it is not imperative, in order to get a table. Tables on the level floor are less noisy when the resto is full. Enjoy !!

We came after the argentine open and the restaurant was very busy. We enjoyed a traditional argentine dish shared with friends which was tasty. It had a lovely traditional feel and the food was good quality. It's also easily located to the ground in Palermo. I'd come back and recommend this restaurant.

Had a ribeye steak here and it was delicious and perfectly grilled to medium rare, just as I had asked. The service was one of the best I've experiences in BsAs. Even though my Spanish, isn't great, the waiter listened patiently and tried to understand me :) He made sure we were enjoying our meal. Friendly & attentive service.

I had a stop-over in Buenos Aires and I asked at the hotel where I could go for dinner (there were several restaurants not only in the same block, but in the neighboring sreets as well). With no hesitation the hotel staff member pointed me in the direction of the "La Fonda del Polo". And what an excellent surprise! Very good food, good wines to choose, attentive waiters. One can choose from pastas, river fishes (one of my choices), meat - a "ternero beef" (the other choice two days later, stop-over again). I did not expect such a good meal, so it was an excellent surprise. And the place gradually filled up until it was packed. But it is NOT noisy, quite the other way round!
