Bed-stuy Fish Fry - Brooklyn

I went 2x before doing a review. The Jamaica lady that was taking the orders was sooooooo rude I thought I was at a Jamaican restaurant asking for extra gravy instead of a soul food restaurant. The tall Jamaican chef is friendly. The food is good but the original Bedstuy Fish fry in Bedstuy is better.Food: 3/5

Today's visit was disappointing. When I walked in and had to ask how to order was being ignored . Once I placed my order, I used the wrong card for payment. I asked the cashier for a refund to use another method, and she told me. NO, this machine can't cancel orders. When I inquired with another employee, he told me. Only women answered the phones and did cashiering he couldn't help me. Wow. I ordered the catfish dinner, which includes two sides. I got sweet potatoes and collard greens with a small macaroni and cheese. With a slice of hummingbird cake. Well, from my order you should know I'm southern. The catfish is fake. It's not real catfish. Might have been Swai. My girl friends fish was undercooked and needed to be redone. Thank God she noticed before we left the store. The hummingbird cake had no walnuts. The sides were ok. The staff need training on customer service. They ignored my complaints. They walk in the small space carrying heavy objects and don't even use verbal announcements for safety. Wish I took photos. Remember, it's not catfish. I deserve a refund.

Literally, everything was completely overly salty. The mac and cheese tasted sweet. The sweet tea was overly sweet to the point where it looked syrupy. No it’s all wrong. Never again!Food: 1/5

Great food and service. Mac and cheese is pretty good. Whiting is great. Blackened Salmon is really good There's no seating so the ambiance isn't too relevant. This is one of the slower locations I've been to when it comes to custom orders such as grilled blackened salmon or sauteed spinach. The pre-made food and the whiting comes quickly. Average meal price with dessert will be about $28

Much less rice in the salmon and shrimp order than usual. Could be due to my late order.Food: 2/5
