Restaurant bewertenWe purchased a voucher to visit this restaurant on a promotion, and were excited to try a new dining place as we had not yet eaten here before. However, it turned out to be a disappointing experience. Although the staff were friendly and the atmosphere was inviting, the food was lackluster and heavy. It was served cold when it should have been hot, and vice versa. It seemed like they relied too heavily on adding excessive amounts of butter to improve the taste of the dishes. We left feeling unsatisfied and even gained weight after the meal. Overall, it was a regrettable dining experience.
The menu at this restaurant is simple yet delicious, with authentic and consistently well-prepared dishes. The wine list is interesting and reasonably priced, the waitstaff is friendly and efficient, and the cream brulee is outstanding. Despite being busy due to its location in an office block, we had no trouble getting a table for dinner. This has become our go-to spot for dinner in Brisbane.
We celebrated a birthday at Les Amis and had a great time. They offer a good deal during the week - 2 courses and a glass of house wine for $40. For starters, we enjoyed the duck and foie gras terrine, as well as the confit pork rillette, both of which were delicious. For the main course, we had the confit duck and pork. The meals were simple, without complex sauces, but still enjoyable. The pork was slightly overcooked. For dessert, we had a chocolate fond, which had a delicious aroma but was a bit runny. The atmosphere was a bit loud, making it difficult to hear our friendly waiter, but it seemed to be due to a large table of noisy diners. Overall, I recommend Les Amis for a lovely and unpretentious dinner experience. I would definitely suggest checking out this place.
We purchased a voucher to go here on a promotion, and were so hoping to find a great new restaurant since we live in the area, had not yet tried thisplace, and love to eat out. What a disappointment! The people are nice, and the atmosphere was promising, so it's such a shame that the food was heavy and uninspired, cold when it should be hot and vice versa, and seemed to usethe "when in doubt, add a kilo of butter" approach to taste. We felt unsatisfied yet still somehow fatter after the meal! Yikes! So sorry that this was such a dud.
We went to Les Amis for my birthday and it was fairly nice. They have a good deal mid week (2 courses & glass of house wine for $40).For entree we had the duck and foie Gras terrine and the confit pork rillette. Both were tasty and really enjoyed them. Mains we had the confit duck and pork loin. Simple meals, don't expect complex sauces, but still enjoyable. Thought the pork was slightly over cooked. Had a chocolate fondant for dessert. Very yummy flavors (just what I remember in Paris), but a teeny runny.Atmosphere is noisy and I had trouble hearing our friendly waiter, but recognize there was a big table of 20 something's who had no idea how noisy they were.Recommend for a nice non pretentious dinner out.I would recommend this place
