Restaurant bewertenIn Ipswich on business lately, desperate need of a cuppa and found this delightful cafe. Tea and toast simple, but done to perfection right down to the butter and jam being spread right to the edges of the toast, not just slapped on the main parts haphazardly. Excellent cup of tea and wonderful, warm, friendly service. A hidden gem.
The hot smell of home cooking will hit you when you enter. Owner Michelle is a home cook, what she lacks in plating finesse originality she makes up for in large wholesome servings. Very basic menu limited offerings except wraps for the health conscious. No gluten free options either but everything I've had like the quiche was yummy although rich. One pie sensational, but another curry one was a weird combination flavour. My salad was a coleslaw with a fatty cliche sauce lettuce tomato no seasonal produce. For foodies nothing new or interesting or innovative here like food from the pages of 1970's Women's Weekly Cookbook full of bad fats, cream, deep fried wonders that look brown oily, sugar high carb all the classics. But some people LOVE that! The coffee is hit miss, they have a coffee window but the concept really hasn't taken off, there are too many good coffee shops and a no1 barista just across the road their coffee lacks a real barista that understands adjusting the grind to humidity. Coffee coneseurs will be disappointed very average. For old school older people this place has a niche market with reasonable prices especially drawing the pensioner crowd. The layout is cosy, with a wrap around private group spacertificate at the back and it really is quiet when you step off Brisbane Rd into this cosy cafe. Service is friendly.
I go here for lunch a lot. You could walk past it and miss it easily as it is very unassuming. The food is great, I haven't eaten anything that I have not enjoyed! I often go there for meetings and plan to take a group there next month.
First off to say this place serves close to what Subway sells is straight crazy talk.
Tasty philly cheesesteak kinda pricey Clean restaurant Pretty fast from ordering and delivery of food.
