Restaurant bewertenIs a traditional restaurant with many fish meals. A very good atmosphere. It isn't situated in the center of the town. But you can serch it. It matters.
I walk often near this restaurant, as it is close to home, but never entered the place. Yet I had a mental note, to visit it someday. And today we did a nice family trip to the "Carpathian delta" (the Dumbravita lakes), and we felt a fish menu would complement the day, so we went to Taverna Pescarului. We ordered fish marinade ("saramura de ****") and fried fish "(**** prajit"), with polenta and garlic marinade. We found the fish marinade to be really really good, the taste of lovage ("leustean") and garlic and tomatoes, just divine. The fried fish was fresh, and you could feel the quality. Maybe the cooking oil was a bit overused for our taste, but the garlic and lemon did solve the issue. We were very pleased with our choices (especially the fish marinade). They do serve some nice quality wines (Budureasa vineyard), and local beer, so kudos for that.Good words deserve the terrace, and the toilet (very clean). All in all, a fresh and cozy place. The fish loving part of my family will revisit the place for sure.
We were four persons going there for dinner (OK, we wanted to make a reservation but they do not take reservations, thus we went there hoping that we'll find a table for 4).The atmosphere is typical of a neighbourhood tavern, definitely not suitable for an expensive restaurant. The service was approximately OK. The food was so and so, meaning that the sturgeon borsch (ștorceag de nisetru) was pretty good, but the grilled sturgeon (nisetru la grătar) was half raw, not done, because the fish pieces were too thick (the thickest I ever saw for sturgeon, about 3-3.5cm thick). While this if fine for tuna, is surely not OK for sturgeon... I complained to the waiter and because nothing happened, when I asked for the bill I also asked for the cook. This guy, who seems to be also the owner of this place was very rude, even when I proved to him that the fish was partially uncooked. He was pretty nasty, on the edge to getting aggressive, saying that if we don't like it we should not pay and just move out... "Dear" cook (Chef is the apelative for the those who really know how to cook), not everybody cares about money. Myself, I care about enjoying my dinner, not about money, clear?!? We paid their 317 lei bill (far too high for such quality; this is the price I also pay in Bucharest at Pescăria Dorobanților - ranked No. 1! -, in the center, for the best quality fish). We shall never return to this ugly place (the ugliness coming mostly from their cook attitude, otherwise mistakes do happen and that's no tragedy if they apologise)...
