Restaurant bewertenHowever, our meal was off to a rough start when a staff member accidentally spilled whisky on my shirt while carelessly placing a glass down. The food platter we received was far from appetizing, and it was clear that they don't adhere to proper health regulations. When I inquired about this, a young woman simply shrugged and remarked, "It's fresher than you are." I found that remark to be incredibly offensive. Disheartened by the poor quality of the food, my husband and I decided to leave without eating. I can't recommend this place to anyone, as it seems they lack a fundamental understanding of health and safety, customer service, and basic manners. Additionally, I must mention that the Atrium bar appeared to have been decorated in a chaotic manner. I truly hope the owners of this establishment recognize their significant shortcomings and consider focusing on less ambitious endeavors rather than attempting to run a business.
We found the tour to be very informative and far from boring. Jacinta mentioned it was only her second tour, but despite a few minor hiccups, she was knowledgeable and genuinely enthusiastic about the distillery. She was open and had a great sense of humor, making her a lively presenter. The whiskey was fantastic, and we had the opportunity to sample several different varieties during the tasting. It’s a great stop if you’re traveling through Tasmania!
The food platter was unappetizing, and it was clear they do not adhere to proper health standards. When I inquired about it, a young woman shrugged and remarked that it was "fresher than you." Left without eating the poor-quality food, my partner and I were thoroughly disappointed. I would not recommend visiting this place, as they clearly lack attention to health and safety, as well as good management and service. Additionally, I want to point out that the decor in the Atrium Bar looked like it had been done by someone with no sense of style. I truly hope the owner of this establishment recognizes these glaring mistakes and considers stepping back to more manageable roles instead of attempting to run a business.
Be sure to book the tour in advance—it's incredibly entertaining and interesting to learn about the history of the mill distillery. It's definitely worth the trip to this remote location.
This is a fantastic place for a Sunday lunch and whisky tasting.
