Restaurant bewertenReally good burgers and notes in the tavern; there for a show in Haynes Hall (only space usually). Exterior room is fantastic, only packed at weekends, so get there early a fire pit heating to incase it will cool. Big cocktails/chids in the tavern, but cocktails in the show are ok (kinda weak).
Atmosphere is fun and inviting! The waitress we had was spectacular. The peachy keen and old fashion drinks were fantastic. We ordered some apps, the pretzels and scoobie snacks (mini corn dogs), they were good for sharing. However, the burgers all lacked flavor. We ordered three different ones and were not very happy with any of them. The Cajun fries and tots though were delicious. Overall, the atmosphere and drinks were the best part of the visit.
Really great environment and I can't wait to come back and checkout other restaurants/bars on the property. Our food took a really long time to come out and when it did, summer of the sauces had a layer over the top as if they had been sitting for quite some time. Our server was fabulous and kind, which was wonderful.
This place is just grand. The food isn't the greatest, but it's reliably good with some variety. Think elevated pub grub. Pizzas, Sammies, fish n chips, all good. Don't overlook the soups and the specials. I've been here a number of times, and when a special sounds interesting, I go for that and have been rewarded for that. The drinks are good, and you can do a whiskey flight if you ask. What keeps me coming back is the space, the vibe, and the wonderful staff. The outdoor space is pretty unique and elevates your experience. The fire pit seating when chilly out is so memorable. You'll want to keep ordering drinks and snacks just to stay put and enjoy it, at least that's what I tend to do. If you've never been here, make a plan to. Walk the grounds, catch a movie, gi swimming, do a bar-crawl, play shuffleboard, pool, pinball...damn fun place!
3.5 stars for food but 4 stars because of the atmosphere. Food wasn't bad but wasn't great either. Don't judge it yet! This is a great place to come chill, enjoy the local brews (Hammerhead pale ale was really good...crisp, grapefruit rind taste), comfort food and find a great place to relax. Cajun Tater Tots were a good starter. Crispy with a little spice to them. Ordered the Tropical Storm personal pizza. Crust was crispy on the outside but soggy in the middle. Not a lot of flavor given the ingredients. Read previous reviews about service being slow. Agree it was slow but that could just be because of covid and the lack of workers. My first time here and will give then another go to see if my review changes. Prices are more than reasonable too!
