Restaurant bewertenMeals forgotten, things on menu not available, extra pizzas on table not ordered, no champagne glasses clean so wine glasses were given to us, $15 cakeage and we had to ask for the table to be cleared and plates brought out. No spoons to eat with, ended up using fingers. Staff seemed to be uninterested being there. Had to ask for everything, menus, to order, glasses, water. Very disappointing for the first time there. Very expensive for what it was.
We visited here on a relatively busy Friday night. Service was sporadic and rather than being asked if we want wine glasses, menus or to order we had to keeping asking. That gets wearing. Some were run off their feet others in a dream and more concerned that they looked ok. Food was ok but even though we were just a few metres from the oven it wasn’t hot. May give it another go but not til some time has elapsed
We visited here twelve months ago. Things pretty much the same. but maybe they feel they don’t have to make changes cos the place is full. We went midweek as a family group. The place is very noisy lots of hard surfaces and the tables close together and to the pizza oven. Seated quickly and order placed quickly. Pizzas came quickly. They were ok except for the piece of plastic from a takeaway container on mine. The others had pasta which they said was fine Then dessert came in a takeaway container. Half of us didn’t mind and the others thought it was slack and would only have taken a minute to plop it into a serving bowl. Asked to leave at 9.15.
Well, the topings on the pizza with the lot , was actually the the minimal , and the place was drafty (don 't you hate cold ankles when you 're eating?! but the wait staff were very cheery, which was a plus. However, the Zeppole desserts meant to be light fluffy clouds of doughy niceness, were undercooked (see picture . They were cooked too quickly and were a bit stodgy and doughy. So c 'mon guys a bit more generosity with the toppings! That 's the Italian way! And the zeppole cook them so that they float to the table by themselves!
We were semi-regulars at this little Italian joint for a couple years. Food was always great, especially the pasta with ragu was always my favorite. My partner is a pizza maniac and he quite liked their pizza too. Service was usually good the waitressing staff had good sense of humor. But that's probably only memories now. After probably 9 months+ we returned to this place and were so disappointed. Pizza was still ok, most likely because of the same oven. Pasta was really average any half decent home cooked pasta would have been better, the whole dish was unmemorable, the prawns were particularly bad they were tasteless not fresh. Most amusing thing was they ran out of red! According to the waitress we had the last 2 glasses! Never ever been to an Italian place in Melbourne that could run out of red. You kidding me! The waitress was very nice and tried to help but seemed really unsure what the restaurant offered in its menu. No wonder the place was practically empty on supposedly a busy night. It used to be packed even midweek. Sadly we would be going elsewhere from now on....
