Restaurant bewertenThe Milton Restaurant in the hotel is tops. Beef stew and carrot cake were delicious. I also recommend the After Dark and Stormy cocktail. Yum yum!
This charming historic guest house in Black Mountain is a great place to stay. It's really inspiring! The bar and restaurant are elegant and embedded in a small mountain town.
Good points: near the city, bed and leather chairs in the room were comfortable, ceiling fan. Bad points: thin walls, so it was very loud when someone went down the hallway and even the sound of the bar. No reading lights in the room. Small bathroom without space to put something. Bad breakfast, even Hampton Inn has better. We won't be back and I wouldn't recommend it.
I want to love this hotel so desperately. The staff is friendly, it is very clean and I can even live without a TV in the room. The three staircase flights can be a drag, but understandable for a historic building. As soon as I got to the top, I was disappointed to find that there was no mini fridge to put a few drinks, which means you have to go down three stairs to get a cold drink. The rooms have no independent temperature control and my bed was DIREKTLY under the Ac vent and bleeded all night on my head. The simple solution would be to move the bed to the other wall, but the management did not seem to be worried about being harassed by my complaint, nor would they refund me for the two nights I had left in my stay. I had to pay for a massage to turn my head the next day after I had blown air on my head. I am also disappointed with the bed linen and bed linen. This is not a motel and is advertised as a three-star boutique hotel and the linens are like sandpaper, lumpy pillows, the towels have flown, and the bed is hard. If you?re not going to the room with a fridge, speed control or other modern amenities, the minimum what you could do is a bit splurge on the sheets. And perhaps you offer an additional blanket between the sheet and the bed if you plan to keep it at subzero temperatures.
I stayed here last year with a friend and enjoyed one of the best weekends in the mountains I have ever experienced. I love Milton Cuisine, the dining area meant for breakfast, the rooms, and the romantic ambiance. The best place to stay in or near Asheville.
