Restaurant bewertenI absolutely adore this coffee shop. It's conveniently located in the state park, so there's no need to drive 30+ minutes to get a good cup of coffee. It's truly the highlight of the town of Black Hawk. The coffee is delicious and the food is outstanding. The atmosphere is laid-back and relaxing - perfect for enjoying a morning coffee and taking in the fresh mountain air.
We stopped in for a quick breakfast and the coffee, food, and service was excellent! The Build Your Own Sandwich idea was perfect for our picky kids!
This place looked good from the outside and the reviews, but we were wrong. We ordered two breakfast burritos which took about 10 or 15 minutes to get, and came covered in what they call green chili, which was basically green water absolutely disgusting. I had the sausage and my girlfriend had the bacon she said it was terrible, had a fowl odor and was undercooked. They were also completely soggy from the green chili
The burritos at this restaurant are excessively spicy, even for someone who enjoys spicy food like myself. The heat may have come from the green chili sauce, which strangely appeared more red in color. The prices are fair, but the uncomfortable chairs make it hard to enjoy the meal for an extended period of time. I was hoping for a better overall experience.
Food, coffee, and atmosphere were great. That being said, I've never seen someone so disappointed and annoyed to have customers walk through a door.
