Restaurant bewertenBeen here a few time over the last few years, never fails on quality or style! Lovely atmosphere and staff, and the foods great too :
I went to this restaurant for lounge with my friends and I really liked it. The atmosphere is great and the service. Nice vew and decent food definitely a place that I would go back
I went for a Valentine's Day lunch and found the restaurant to be busy, but the staff were managing well since it was newly refurbished. The seafood platter was a standout choice, especially when paired with a glass of Rose 2004 champagne. However, at £18.50 per glass, you might not want to indulge too much. The duck leg salad was beautifully presented, a good size, and tasted delicious. Overall, the bill came to just under £100, including drinks and dessert, making it an ideal choice for a special occasion. I would likely visit again.
I visited the Gallery on Saturday 18th June with my daughter and her friend, it was a long overdue catch up. We ordered some champagne and cocktails which came quickly with excellent service served by the restaurant supervisor. We then ordered a fish sharing platter which was ok. I had ordered a steak medium rare, when this came it was obviously medium to well done, at a price of £19.00 I thought I deserved to have it as I ordered it. A young waitress came and took it away along with my comments, I was then shocked when she returned without my plate to ask if I was sure about the steak being medium well done, I said I was sure, she replied that they had checked it in the kitchen and it was medium rare and was I confused by the lighting in the restaurant, since it was different in the kitchen? I told her that it was the taste as well as the colour of the steak!, I was then asked if that was the case would I like the plate redone. I couldn't believe that I was being questioned in such a way, it was embarrassing for me and was also clearly embarrassing for her. I was furious and so I complained to the supervisor, she went to find out and came back from the kitchen and apologised, however I was still left feeling that I was being patronised and that they thought they were right, by now my daughter and her friend had nearly finished their food so the offer to redo the whole table was appreciated but was a little too late. My steak when it did come was very nice but very rare! The supervisor is very good at her job, but I still felt very upset at the treatment I was given, the steak was taken off the bill which was a welcome gesture, but I will always think twice before going there again which is a shame because I love champagne and it made the Selfridges shopping experience very pleasurable I used to go about 6 times a year.
The food was delicious, the service was friendly and excellent. Don't let the name deter you, there is a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks available. The afternoon tea appeared impressive, I recommend visiting this restaurant as soon as possible!
