Restaurant bewertenNot a nice relaxing place to be. Bar service for placing orders was hectic and noisy as was restaurant. Food was okay ambiance spoilt it for us.
Food was amazing. Cannot fault the set menu valentines meal. I would recommend the food in the Village and the bar, it’s agood atmosphere. We were served by a elderly woman who I think was on a day release from a home , did not have a clue how to serve us. She made us and the tables by us feel very uncomfortable and made it difficult to ask for anything. Surly on a special night like valentines just a couple of experienced staff isn’t much to ask for. Tables were to close. May aswell have sat us on one big long table. This was the first time since Xmas my ill wife had been out so we left disappointed. I would go back but only for a drink just wouldn’t know what I’d get if i sat down for food.
I was disappointed as I was expecting a carvery with all the trimmings but had it served on a wooden board even though the young lady did explain this I was still underwhelmed. Also it was cold in the area were we where sitting the young lady turned the air con off and put the heating on. It as my birthday and I would have preferred to have my food on a plate not a wooden board not my cup of tea as I always feel you cannot get wood hygienicly clean.
I was at the Village Grill recently with a friend. We both had the chicken piri piri. The chicken was lovely, tender and moist, followed by cheesecake. It was a Saturday night and I expected it to be very busy and quite noisy, it was neither. Sometimes the noise level is quite high, depending on which football team is playing on the big screens. I have often been in Starbucks with friends and it has been difficult to hear each other speak. But, Saturday was good, we both enjoyed ourselves. Lovely ambience and good service.
The staff were really welcoming and really helpful. Food was beautiful, really happy and will be visiting again
