Restaurant bewertenQuaint country pub with a roaring open fire and great food. Also carries a selection of interesting lagers from Cotswold brewery, I particularly enjoyed the Cotswold Winter lager.
So we were happy to have lunch here. only by chance while we visited the opposite. the staff was friendly and the food was delicious. all together a very nice experience. dog-friendly too.
We drove for 2 hours to come and try the food and introduce our 5 month old puppy to the pub environment! It was well worth it for a walk in beautiful surroundings followed by a tasty vegan Sunday dinner with jam roly poly for pudding! The staff were so welcoming, great place and we’ll be back! Thank you P.s. I’m not a professional food photographer but I a dedicated vegan foodie!
Beautiful old Inn that deserves a visit. Good range of ales and a warm welcome, graced by some delicious food provided with a smile. Mother-in-law had egg and chips, which was plain food cooked well. Just as she liked it. The waitress asked if mum wanted beans with her meal and these were freely produced to enhance her enjoyment. My partner Lynn had a gorgeous turkey brie sandwich, coming with a side salad. Whilst I enjoyed a large bowl of Tomato and Basil Soup with bread butter. Frankly, I would rename the soup as something like: Stupendous! Sumptuous or, possibly, misspell Superb! As all would fit this gorgeous concoction of creamy goodness mixed with spices topped by a sprinkle of Basil. We have noted this little treasure near Birdlip and will pass this way again.
By tradition (apparently) they have some odd stuff on offer, so if that's your thing, check out the menu online they were doing kangaroo meatballs when we were there. Aside from that, the regular food was good and they had a couple of real ales on tap. Good food and beer at a fair price. Friendly staff in a beautiful old building what's not to like?
