Bilpin Apple Pie Cottage Orchard

The best apple pie in the Blue Mountains! The crunchy pastry crust is superb. I highly recommend adding berries and ice cream. The Aussie family who runs the restaurant is very down to earth with no BS. Some of the negative comments below seem to be from visitors who didn't understand the rules, such as not allowing animals in the restaurant or not being able to sit at tables with takeaway food. The owner may get irate because of this. I've been coming here for at least 10 years and have tried other pie places, but none compare to the quality of the pie crust here. The restaurant is clean and efficient with a nice outlook from the deck. They also sell some local produce and are real people trying to make a living with a great product.

12 of us in a small bus found Royal Gardenia on our way to an early afternoon wedding and needed a quick lunch and coffee. The owner sat us down and even though they were busy he got us our coffees, teas, meat and apple pies very efficiently. Enjoyed the coffee and meat pies but the Apple Pie was to die for. On a cold windy day Royal Gardenia provided just what we needed. Thanks for the hospitality, highly recommended.

Terrible and rude staff member. Racism! Had to borrow the toilet, took some photos of the balcony view, the food didn’t look good so decided not to buy. About the walked out of the door. Staff got offended as I didn’t buy anything, despite already thanking him in the first instance for allowing me to use the toilet STILL demand me to thank him for using the toilet!! RUDE SKIN HEAD!!

The man at the restaurant was very rude. Even though we had our small dog with us, there was no need for him to be so short and grumpy. We decided to leave and go to Bilpin instead, where we found excellent service at the ironically named Grumpy Baker.

They appear to take advantage of the fact that they are the very first apple pie for sale on the road back to the city but don’t even bother to make an edible pie dry and flavourless.
