Gem along the South Shore, had probably the best portobello mushroom burger I’ve ever had. Great atmosphere and bar and outdoor patio. Parking is the only challenge. Usually have to park across the street. Dietary restrictions: Most sides are vegan or can be made vegan. Always seem to have at least 1 or 2 very tasty vegan options Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $30–50 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes: Italian Pasta Salad V Recommendation for vegetarians: Highly recommend Vegetarian offerings: Vegetarian menu or section, Clearly labeled vegetarian dishes
I hope to relate the message to the owner of this restaurant. We (family of 4)were rejected “walking in seating” in a half empty restaurant. When we questioned the decision not to seat us, the hostess explained that even the restaurant did not look very busy, the kitchen was. She told us that they were expecting a party of 12, but the restaurant had many empty tables therefore the answer was not logical. If owner is aware of those decisions to loose business on Sunday lunch and permits such behavior, it is disappointing. The restaurant has nice appeal, probably tasty food and could generate great profits. Service: 1
Went here for a last minute dinner after setting up our campsite at Dunewood Campground next door. Friendly staff, good food. Great atmosphere. There's a big outdoor area too; if we had gotten in sooner, I would have loved to sip a cocktail or glass of wine by the fire pit outside! Parking is in the back. When we got there it was full, so we parked across the street. I had the summer pasta salad. My boyfriend got the burger. When we got our food, he realized he forgot to tell them no cheese (lactose intolerant), and they graciously took it back and cooked a new one right away without cheese. Hopefully will be going back to the dunes in the future and will gladly come back here again! I was impressed that they have added vegan options since they opened. The spinach pasta salad, roasted mushrooms, and roasted sprouts were all vegan. The pasta salad was quite tasty. My wife enjoyed the mushroom potter cake, which was delicious. I ordered the portobello mushroom cap burger with olive grove, which was also very good. The terrace is dog-friendly and they have a great selection of wines. The friendly and knowledgeable service was a definite bonus.
