Restaurant bewertenWe are foodies. We eat out regularly and appreciate good quality food. This was by far the best dinner we ever had! Bread basket had a variety of craft breads. Sea scallops and lobster mac n cheese were perfectly prepared and generous portions. We could cut the porterhouse steak with a fork, and it was perfect with the side of sautéed wild mushrooms. The Salted Caramel and Sangria cocktails were delicious and our waiter Preston was the most knowledgeable and attentive waiter ever. I gave it 5 stars for everything except value . I believe the steak and seafood were worth the cost, but I would not pay $21 for a house salad or $14 for potatoes or vegetables. That seemed unreasonable. Otherwise, we were very happy with every aspect of our meal and service.
I don't feel like we had the fine dining experience we have had in the past. Our server although very nice was too distracted to help explain things on the menu. When I would ask a question another server would get her attention and she would have to walk away and just made me feel rushed to decide and uncomfortable asking any more questions on the menu because she clearly looked like she had no time to explain. One of my friends had a nail sticking out on her chair where the decorative tack should be and it stabbed her while getting up. The steak we had was only pink in the middle and very overcooked everywhere else. Was a bummer to celebrate our night out and to spend so much for a not so great experience.
I love it! The food is great. The atmosphere, service, drinks, desserts, all great. I enjoy feeling the energy in Mastro's. Everyone sounds like they are having a great time. I enjoy the live music and the great vibe. I totally and highly recommend.
Very classy steakhouse. Delicious steaks and sides. Great service. April was a wonderful server. Amazing desserts. Parking: Valet parking if you can't find metered street parking.
Let me start by saying, I am a foodie and always go to 5 star restaurants.I also have been to Mastros several times but not The Penthouse in Beverly Hills. I chose this location because it was close to my parents home, and my parents were celebrating their 35th Anniversary along with my dads 60th birthday. The location was in a great area, valet upon arrival, beautiful on the inside, and nice live music as well. The downside is we got the waitress, Allison. When we first sat down she got us waters and bread to start but it took forever for us to order. When we did, our starters came then it took forever to order entrees. We saw another waitress making her rounds to her tables continuously. We were going to give her a compliment and she wasn’t even waiting our table. Allison was either missing in action or would be looking from afar but wasn’t coming to the table to ask if we needed anything or to see how our food tasted. I ordered my lamb chops medium well and they came out ******. I sent it back and order a porterhouse, ******!!! My plate was so hot, I tried to let it sit to cook some more but ended up boxing it up to cook at home. Ate it for breakfast with eggs WAS DELICIOUS. Mom sent her food back seabass and baked potato. But most importantly, horrible service. At the end, she offered our party of 6 free dessert to share which was only because of the poor experience and service. She came quicker to give us our bill than to actually service us during our dinner. Wanted a manager but wanted to hurry up and leave more. Would not come back to this location but would go back to Mastros.
