Restaurant bewertenRockin' Dave's is an awesome place to eat. We were passing through Bend on our way to Eugene and stopped by here after playing a show in downtown. It was recommended by one of our band members who's been here before and took us here. The staff was super awesome and Dave was there himself. They went over the entire menu with the band and took our order and got it all correct. The food itself was awesome! Very flavorful and they have a back area for people to sit with hot sauces and TVs. They also give 50% off to traveling bands so if you are a musician looking to eat passing through town, this is a place you must stop at. Dave is a huge fan of music and musicians and he wants to make sure we are treated well. If you were in Bend, give this place a try. You won't regret it.
Every time I come in I get good food. Its a small place but cozy. Its a mellow place and friendly. My favorite are the bagel sandwiches.
I really want to like this place a lot. I love that everything is made in house, but I think that may actually be the problem for me. I had a breakfast bagel sando here a few years ago and decided there were other bagels I liked more and so, hadn't really been back. A co-worker ordered a burrito the other day that looked pretty good and got me looking over the menu again. I went to lunch with a buddy and we split the Royal Reuben and the Chicago Italian Beef. The reuben was decent, although I was missing the accentuated kick of salt that accompanies most corned beef/pastrami I'm used to. I was getting the tang of the kraut or the sweetness of the 1000 Island dressing. Overall, I just felt like the flavors were muted. The bread had a nice texture to it, but had an overwhelming yeasty smell to it. There's a trade-off between yeast and time and it tasted like this was a quicker, heavier on the yeast bread. Again, that's just my take from a flavor perspective. I was excited to try the Italian Beef, but Portillo's this was not. I had the same experience with this sandwich, with the beef feeling a little underseasoned and the giardiniera lacking any spice or acid I was looking to cut through the beef and jus. The bread on this one was super soft to the touch and kind of flimsy. And, like the Rye on the reuben, tasted overly yeasty to me. I almost didn't write this review because I really like the idea that they're making everything in house and a lot of people really enjoy the food here. It just won't be a go-to for sandos for me, but I'll still be back at some point to try a rice bowl, which looked pretty tasty. Almost forgot the pickle! Really awesome house pickles!
Such a cute place and great breakfast! We sat in their lounge area which is very cozy. We grabbed a house-made bagel for the road and so glad we did. We will definitely return on our next trip through.
Fresh ingredients in generous portions on a fresh bagel! Quick service even on a busy Friday Morning!
