The Jailhouse Whiskey Cigar - Belmont

This is such a cool place! Several stories big. The floor is the cigar room and the top is the bar. You have many drinks to choose. There were no tons of seats at the bar, but we could find another place on Saturday night. You have the old prison cells that are super cool!! Definitely a must to visit in Belmont.

My brother, sister-in-law, and I thought here was soaked and it was great! the drinks were very good. I had the lavender vanille, her favorite drink and comforted. all were so good! my brother drank the angel bourbon! presentation was also fantastic! we also ordered crispy brunettes and sweet potatoes, both were very good! the place is a rebuilt prison! has a few cool areas. there are also a few lounges if they like to smoke cigars too! if they are in charlotte and want a great place for drinks, they must come here! if I visit my brother again, we come back!

Great high end cocktails old school feel. It's actually in a former jailhouse and they have pictures of proof! My cousin and I Camino for a cocktail and a stick. The bar is on the upper level and you can't smoke there but you pass a little lounge on your way to the bar! Very nice!

My man and I stopped while we were waiting for the seat in a restaurant close by and that was the perfect place to stop and grab drinks. the inner was very cozy perfect for couples or a date night! they can also buy a cigar and light up in the cigar room, which is a floor below the bar. I ordered the lavender lemon drop, which was amazing! it was strong, sweet and everything they want in a cocktail. husband got two others who were almost as good whisky based. highly recommended to stop at this place! we'll be back.

Giving three stars because of the potential this place has to be so much better with very little effort. The bar upstairs is pretty cool, and has a wide drink selection. Cigar selection is limited but acceptable. However the lounge is wayyy too cold and dark, not enough ashtrays, and no lighters, only matches, which makes the cigars hard to light with the vents blowing constantly. Cutter is upstairs, so if you forget, bite it off the old fashioned way, or trudge upstairs. Remedy these issues and the lounge will be one of the best in the region.
